Go Fly A Kite

The Book of the Future is not all sadness and mayhem.  Sometimes it shows clever, ingenious, funny solutions to problems.  For instance, according to one possible future, the Mars rover named Spirit will figure out how, like an animal caught in a trap, to "chew" or saw its leg off and escape from a sand trap.  After sawing off the leg, Spirit will hammer the metal bits into a wide, thin delta-shaped sheet of metal that it will hoist into the air and use as a kite to catch the Martian breeze and ride out of the hole.
